Antonov An-225 Mriya largest plane cargo transporter, carrying the Buran orbiter part of the Soviet house shuttle venture, 1989. The six-engine, Ukrainian-built An-225, the world’s largest airplane, was designed to hold outsized cargo externally and has a most payload capability of 250,000 kg (about 551,000 kilos). The prototype plane, which first flew in 1988, was the one one constructed as of the tip of the twentieth century.
