The THEMIS (Tracked Hybrid Modular Infantry System) is a remotely managed Unmanned Floor Automobile (UGV). It was designed by MILREM Robotics ( @Milrem ) a newly established Estonian firm. The UAE’s EDGE Group PJSC (‘EDGE Group’ or ‘EDGE’), one of many world’s main superior expertise and defence teams, has introduced the acquisition of a majority stake in Estonia-based Milrem Robotics, Europe’s main developer of robotics and autonomous methods. The transaction is the biggest international funding in Estonia’s rising defence trade, and can see Milrem Robotics be a part of EDGE as a brand new entity inside its Platforms & Techniques cluster, complementing the group’s present multi-domain capabilities.
Established in 2013, Milrem Robotics’ mission is to offer revolutionary robotic options for difficult environments. It specialises within the improvement of clever unmanned floor autos, robotic warfare options, Idea of Operations (CONOPS) and doctrine-level warfare evaluation. Its predominant merchandise are the THeMIS and Multiscope unmanned floor autos, the Sort-X unmanned fight car, and the MIFIK land car autonomy package deal.
