“This multinational sail fortifies our relationship between the U.S., Japan and Australian allies,” stated Cmdr. Earvin Taylor, commanding officer of John Finn. “We promote transparency, rule of legislation, freedom of navigation and all ideas that underscore safety and prosperity within the Indo-Pacific.”

The U.S. Navy often participates with allies and companions in high-end maritime workouts and operations, which have continued to develop in scale, scope, and complexity, to create mixed operations that improve interoperability, enhance deterrence, and display shared resolve.

“Australia has maintained a sturdy program of worldwide engagement with regional nations for many years and cooperative actions at sea throughout routine deployments are essential for enhancing mutual understanding and our means to function collectively,” stated Australia’s Joint Power Maritime Part Commander, Commodore Jonathan Ley, RAN.

U.S. seventh Fleet is the U.S. Navy’s largest forward-deployed numbered fleet and routinely interacts and operates with allies and companions in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific area.
