Troopers parade by means of streets of Eastwood marking historic day for the city


Troopers paraded by means of the streets of Eastwood yesterday.

On Wednesday, June 22, troopers from the 170 (Infrastructure Assist) Engineer Group paraded by means of the city centre to train their Freedom of the Borough and have fun the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The city was wearing crimson, white and blue bunting and residents and native enterprise house owners took to the streets to cheer on its Army heroes.

Councillor Milan Radulovic, chief of Broxtowe Borough Council, stated: “After the social restrictions over the previous couple of years, I used to be thrilled that we might deliver this occasion to the borough as a strategy to honour our armed forces and her majesty the Queen.

“Their devotion to serving others is exceptional and I used to be proud to see that Eastwood gave them the rousing welcome that they deserved.”

The parade came about throughout Armed Forces Week and was a chance for the unit to train their Freedom of the Borough, which was bestowed on them in 2009.

Freedom of Entry permits navy models to march by means of the borough in recognition of their excellent achievements, dedication and dedication within the service of this nation and as an expression of the excessive regard wherein they’re held by the council and members of the group.
