SUMTER —The FBI’s Columbia subject workplace is investigating a taking pictures incident that occurred the afternoon of Dec. 23 at Shaw Air Drive Base when a male suspect tried to realize entry.
An Airman assigned to the twentieth Safety Forces Squadron shot and injured the person who “illegally gained entry to the bottom with a prohibited weapon,” an FBI media launch stated Dec. 24.
The unidentified male topic stays in a Columbia-area hospital with accidents and is predicted to recuperate, the assertion stated.
There have been no different accidents reported.
An earlier press launch described the occasion as a “gate-runner” who was stopped round 1:30 p.m.
“There isn’t any indication that this remoted incident is said to terrorism or another violent extremism, and there’s no risk to most people,” the media alert stated.
