The Renewed Tupolev Tu 22M Backfire Bomber Risk to the U.S. Navy – The Tupolev Tu-22M (also referred to as Backfire) is a long-range strategic and maritime strike bomber developed by Tupolev for the Soviet Air Pressure. The plane is presently in service with the Russian Air Pressure and Russian Naval Aviation.
The Tu-22M was primarily based on the design of the Tu-22 plane. The plane is primarily used to conduct nuclear strike and traditional assault operations. It may also be deployed in anti-ship and maritime reconnaissance missions.
The plane is supplied with laborious factors to hold Kh-22 stand-off missiles, Kh-15 nuclear or Kh-15P anti-radar missiles and FAB-250 or FAB-1500 free fall bombs.
