After World Battle II, america navy determined they wanted two planes for the job: the EF-111 Raven and the EA-6B Prowler. The Prowler entered service in 1971, changing the EKA-3B Skywarrior, which was higher referred to as the “Whale.”
Though each the Raven and the Prowler have been modified assault planes, the Prowler hardly resembled its unique after modifications. The A-6 had a crew of two whereas the EA-6B Prowler had a crew of 4. The Prowler carries as much as 5 pods for the ALQ-99 digital countermeasures system. The ALQ-99 carries out what is called “comfortable kills” of enemy radars and missiles. A “comfortable kill” doesn’t do bodily harm, however as an alternative confuses focused methods by sending false alerts, jamming enemy methods with static, and even turning shows clean.
