Greater than 60 troopers have returned to their base in Scotland after a 4 month tour of Afghanistan.
The Royal Highland Fusiliers, the 2nd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland have been welcomed at Glencorse Barracks in Penicuik within the early hours of the morning by their households and family members.
They deployed on Operation Toral again in August, supporting the enduring NATO mission in Kabul.
The second half of the battalion, together with troops from Balaklava Firm 5 SCOTS, will stay in Afghanistan till April.
