A Shetland pony who was a private favorite of the Queen has been given a prime honour in recognition of his lengthy profession “brightening the lives of so many individuals”.
Cruachan III is a former mascot of the Royal Regiment of Scotland who retired in 2012, aged 23, after practically twenty years of army service. For nearly 17 years, he took half in quite a few army parades and Highland video games, and have become a much-loved addition to the forged of the Royal Edinburgh Navy Tattoo. The horse was awarded the British Horse Society’s Tarragon Trophy – their “equine persona of the 12 months” gong.
