TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. —
The 72nd Safety Forces Squadron held varied occasions from Might 10 by Might 17, 2024, to honor and have fun Nationwide Police Week.
The annual observance dates to 1962 when President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation designating Might 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week through which that date falls as Police Week.
Police Week at Tinker Air Drive Base kicked off Might 10 in entrance of the Base Change with a Safety Forces show of uniforms, weapons and dealing army canine.
A gap ceremony was held on Might 13, adopted by a ruck and bowling event later within the day. A golf event was held Might 17 on the Tinker Golf Course.
Might 14 started with a Defender’s Problem, a sequence of bodily challenges designed to place the Defenders abilities and bodily prowess to check.
On Might 16, a closing guard mount ceremony was held to honor fallen heroes who made the final word sacrifice within the line of obligation.
