When overseas fight troops left Helmand in 2014 safety was handed over to Afghan forces. For the following few years they struggled to include the Taliban and final April 300 US Marines have been despatched again to Afghanistan to assist then with coaching. In Helmand, Marines are actually serving to the Afghan Army tackle the Taliban.
