The Navy officer in command of overseeing a gasoline provide facility in Hawaii, the place current spills have contaminated consuming water and displaced 1000’s of troops and their households, was fired, the service introduced Tuesday.
Capt. Albert Lee Hornyak, head of the Navy Provide Command Fleet Logistics Heart, was relieved of command by Rear Adm. Peter Stamatopoulos after a “lack of confidence in his capacity to carry out his duties following a sequence of management and oversight failures on the Pink Hill Bulk Gas Storage Facility,” a press release from the Navy mentioned.
