A Navy MH-60S “Seahawk” helicopter was pressured down in a subject and crashed into bushes Wednesday northwest of Norfolk, Virginia, inflicting accidents to a passenger, Navy and state officers confirmed.
Virginia State Police stated in an emailed assertion to Navy.com that the helicopter was making an emergency touchdown in an open subject, and “the momentum of the craft brought about it to slip into the wooden line” in Isle of Wight County.
Launched photographs present the plane tangled within the woods with its rotor blades twisted and damaged, tree limbs mendacity over its roof, and its nostril smashed.

“The craft struck a number of bushes sustaining injury to the entrance cockpit space and either side of the touchdown skids,” the police assertion stated.
Navy spokesman Lt. Cmdr. Robert Myers confirmed the crash and stated that the plane was a part of Norfolk-based Helicopter Sea Fight Squadron 26.
State police stated that the 2 pilots weren’t injured, however “the again passenger was transported to the hospital with minor accidents.” Myers stated the accidents had been non-life threatening.
The Navy didn’t launch the identification of the three crew members.
“The care and well-being of our crew stays our high precedence and we are going to examine the reason for this incident,” Myers stated in his assertion.
Virginia State Police confirmed that the Navy has taken over the investigation and famous that the FAA isn’t concerned.
