Navy Establishes the Maritime Cyber Warfare Officer (MCWO) Designator — 1880 > United States Navy > News Tales

The 2023 Nationwide Protection Authorization Act (NDAA), signed into regulation on Dec. 23, 2022, directed the Secretary of the Navy, in coordination with the Chief of Naval Operations, to ascertain a cyber warfare operations designator for officers inside 180 days after enactment of the NDAA.
