The Ticonderoga class of guided-missile cruisers is a category of warships in the USA Navy, first ordered and licensed within the 1978 fiscal 12 months. The Ticonderoga-class cruiser’s design was based mostly on that of the Spruance-class destroyer.
The Ticonderogas have been the primary floor combatant ships outfitted with the aegis weapon system, probably the most refined air defence system on the earth.
