The son of Dean and Ferne (Reuter) Davis, Michael was born and raised in Gallipolis. He graduated from Gallia Academy Highschool in 1957 and continued on to Columbus Enterprise Faculty and Ohio Faculty of Banking.
In 1960, Mike enlisted within the U.S. Army and accomplished fundamental infantry coaching at Fort Knox, Ky.; from there he went to Fort Benjamin Harrison, Iowa. He graduated the Army’s finance college and volunteered for obligation in South Vietnam. He served 13 months at Ton Son Nhut Air Base as a payroll specialist for Army Help Command – Vietnam. He traveled via South Vietnam distributing payroll for US Special Forces. Mike’s subsequent task was on the Pentagon, the place he accomplished the phrases of his enlistment. He left the Army in 1965.
Mike married Elva Williams on July 4, 1965 and was father to Robin Halsted (Jeff) and Ethan Davis (Amanda). He raised his kids with love and devotion in Gallipolis, along with his spouse Elva (Williams) Davis. He’s survived by his spouse, two kids, 5 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, brother-in-law, and three honorary Danner brothers.
Apart from his time within the service, Mike labored each within the retail and banking business. He had the privilege to work alongside his father on the Davis Schuler Co and later grew to become proprietor and supervisor of the ABC Kiddie Store. He additionally served a few years as a part of the Ohio Valley Financial institution crew in varied areas as mortgage officer and department supervisor.
Mike was an lively member and long-standing trustee at First Baptist Church in Gallipolis. He loved spending time along with his household and mates, visiting the seashore, refurbishing vintage vehicles, gardening, cooking, and being a espresso connoisseur.
A service honoring the lifetime of Michael C. Davis will likely be held at First Baptist Church (1100 Fourth Avenue, Gallipolis, at 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 22, 2022. A navy service will likely be offered by the Gallia County Funeral Element. Burial will observe in Mound Hill Cemetery.
