HIMARS, produced by Lockheed Martin, stands for Excessive Mobility Artillery Rocket System. Providing A number of Launch Rocket System firepower on a wheeled chassis, the HIMARS is the latest member of the MLRS launcher household. HIMARS carries a single six-pack of GMLRS rockets or one TACMS missile on the Army’s Household of Medium Tactical Automobiles (FMTV) 5-ton truck, and may launch the complete MLRS household of munitions.
