A Royal Navy warship has set sail for the Gulf to guard transport within the Strait of Hormuz amid tensions with Iran. HMS Kent is anticipated to interchange HMS Montrose, which is due for routine upkeep. The UK, working with the US, presently has two Royal Navy vessels escorting tankers, following Iran’s seizure of the Stena Impero. Additionally leaving Portsmouth was HMS Defender, deploying to the Asia Pacific area.
