Historic Freehold Memorial Day Parade Marks 148th Yr


FREEHOLD, N.J.— The 148th Freehold Memorial Day Parade will begin at 9:45 a.m. on the nook of Brinkerhoff Avenue and Foremost Avenue Monday, led by a flag-draped caisson adopted at 10 a.m. by the parade.

The parade pays tribute to the fallen heroes of the USA and is the oldest and largest such parade in Western Monmouth County, with a mean of greater than 70 items collaborating annually, organizers say.

The parade options many army items, veterans teams, bands, fireplace departments, EMS squads, youth teams, customized floats and civilian items.

The parade will proceed down Foremost Avenue to Broadway and can take a left onto Murray Avenue. It’s going to then take a left onto Schank Avenue and proceed as much as Monument Avenue had been it’ll take a proper flip earlier than coming into the car parking zone of the Monmouth County Courthouse, organizers say.
