An F-35C Lightning II fighter suffered “a touchdown mishap” on the deck of the USS Carl Vinson within the South China Sea on Monday. It left seven sailors injured whereas the pilot safely ejected and was later recovered, the Navy confirmed, marking the fifth main mishap aboard the deployed provider since late November.
Between Nov. 22 and Tuesday, Provider Air Wing 2 reported 4 different main incidents involving plane. Naval Security Heart information exhibits that the primary incident, which occurred Nov. 22, was an in-flight engine fireplace aboard an F/A-18E Tremendous Hornet that was capable of land efficiently.
Two days later, a MH-60R Seahawk helicopter “unexpectedly” misplaced its sonar dipping tools whereas conducting a coaching flight. The third incident occurred Nov. 29 and concerned one other F/A-18E Tremendous Hornet. That point, a problem with the aircraft’s left engine pressured its pilot to close it down and land utilizing the opposite, good engine.
