CHESAPEAKE, Va. – A number of Chesapeake residents are displaced after an condo advanced fireplace befell Saturday afternoon.
Chesapeake firefighters have been referred to as to the scene of a residential condo advanced fireplace after a name was acquired at 1:36 p.m., within the 2100 block of South Army Hwy, within the Portlock part of the Metropolis.
Firefighters arrived on the scene inside minutes to discover a three-story condo advanced with nothing displaying.
Officers say all occupants evacuated earlier than crews arrived. As crews acquired to the third flooring they discovered one condo unit that had a small kitchen fireplace.
The hearth was put out by the constructing’s sprinkler system earlier than their arrival. The occupant of the affected unit was discovered to have minor non-life-threatening accidents from the fireplace and was taken to a close-by hospital.
The sprinklers triggered vital water harm to all three flooring of the advanced and compromised electrical service to a number of areas of the construction.
