The Canadian Special Operations Regiment (CSOR) which sounds like see-saw is a battalion-sized, high-readiness special operations unit part of Canadian Special Operations Forces Command. This Canadian special forces unit is capable of conducting and enabling a broad range of missions, including direct action, defence diplomacy and military assistance, and special reconnaissance.

The unit traces its roots to the First Special Service Force which was the Canadian-American special forces unit that fought in 1942 and earned the “Devil’s Brigade” moniker for daring night raids on German forces at the Anzio beachhead.
The regiment has maintained a presence in Afghanistan since 2006, in support of the Canadian and coalition forces in the southern province of Kandahar.
(CSOR) has also conducted training of regular soldiers in North Africa in 2011.
