The AC-130J Ghostrider is a big improve over the older AC-130U Spooky gunships, boasting improved avionics, navigation methods, and weapons. It reached its preliminary operational functionality in September 2017.
Nonetheless, the AC-130 platform has served for over half a century. And although it has remained related by means of a slew of weaponry, fire-control, and sensor upgrades, the platform’s future utility could be considerably restricted.
