The NZSAS is the Premier “Tier 1” Combat Unit of the New Zealand Defence Force and it has been operationally deployed to a variety of locations since 1955 and shares ties with the British 22 SAS Regiment and the Australian SASR to World War II and the Long Range Desert Group (LRDG).
