WEST POINT, N.Y. — Vice President Kamala Harris would be the first girl to ship a graduation speech at a West Level commencement ceremony, White Home officers mentioned.
Harris will ship the keynote tackle on Might 27 on the U.S. Army Academy for the Class of 2023.
“We’re honored to have the Vice President as our graduation speaker,” Lt. Gen. Steven W. Gilland, the U.S. Army Academy’s 61st superintendent, mentioned in a press release. “As an achieved chief who has achieved vital milestones all through her profession, we sit up for her inspiring remarks to our cadets.”
Traditionally, vice presidents have addressed the graduating class at one of many federal service academies on a rotating foundation. This can be Harris’ first go to to West Level.
