The households of captured American volunteer fighters Alex Drueke and Andy Huynh have confirmed to Navy.com that each males have been launched from captivity and are heading house.
“They’re safely within the custody of the U.S. embassy in Saudi Arabia and, after medical checks and debriefing they are going to return to the States,” Dianna Shaw, the relative who has been talking for the Drueke household, informed Navy.com.
Darla Black, the mother of Pleasure Black, Huynh’s fiancee, stated that the 2 males had been “coming house collectively.” She added, “We’re overwhelmed, as you may think about.”

The lads are being launched as half of a bigger deal releasing 10 males that was the results of mediation by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Reuters reported earlier Wednesday.
Navy.com reached out to the State Division for remark however didn’t get a reply in time for publication.
Drueke and Huynh had been captured by Russian or Russian-backed forces in June whereas combating in northeastern Ukraine, close to the town of Kharkiv. They had been reportedly a part of a small contingent of Ukrainian-backed forces made up of principally American and French volunteers referred to as “Activity Drive Baguette” on the time of their seize.
The 2 males have spent roughly 100 days in captivity.
“We deeply recognize everybody’s prayers and particularly the shut communication and help of our elected officers, Ukrainian Ambassador Markarova, and our members of the U.S. embassies in Ukraine and Saudi Arabia and the U.S. Division of State,” Shaw stated.
