Royal Navy patrol boats HMS Severn and HMS Tamar have been instructed to return from their patrol of the waters round Jersey after a protest by French fishermen noticed round 60 vessels blockade the port in St Helier.
Talks described as “optimistic” have taken place in regards to the dispute over post-Brexit fishing rights and a brand new licensing system launched by the island.
The blockade has ended, however tensions stay.
