A New Bedford Marine is making his ultimate journey house on Tuesday, as family and friends put together for his burial this weekend.
Sgt. Samuel Demers, 25, unexpectedly handed away on June 20 on account of health-related causes. Demers had served as a U.S. Marine for a number of years and was with Weapons Co., 2nd Battalion, seventh Marines at Marine Corps Air Floor Fight Heart Twentynine Palms in southern California.
Beforehand, Demers had been deployed to Romania and Japan and Operation Inherent Resolve in Iraq in 2019.
