The Navy’s MQ-25A Stingray unmanned aerial refueling is ready to deploy on an plane service in 2026, a service official stated on Tuesday. Vice Adm. Kevin Whitesell instructed a panel on the Sea Air House 2022 symposium that the service was on monitor to achieve preliminary operational functionality for the MQ-25As by 2025 and deploy the plane on USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) by 2026. The Navy has wrapped up early testing of the Boeing-built MQ-25A T-1 prototype forward of the primary manufacturing MQ-25As. The T-1 proved aerial refueling with F/A-18F Tremendous Hornets, F-35C Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter and E-2D Superior Hawkeye working out of MidAmerica St. Louis Airport in Mascoutah, Unwell. In December, the Navy used the T-1 prototype for deck dealing with testing aboard USS George H.W. Bush (CVN-77).
