Matt Koetting served in the US Marine Corps as an assaultman, machine gunner, joint terminal assault controller (JTAC), Marine Corps teacher of water survival (MCIWS) and Reconnaissance Marine. Matt served with 1st Battalion third Marine Regiment throughout two deployments to Iraq and one to Afghanistan.
Throughout his deployment to Afghanistan, Matt took half in Operation Moshtarak which was meant to wrest management of town of Marjah from Taliban and rebel forces. Through the operation, he was severely wounded by an improvised explosive system (IED). He was medically evacuated from the purpose of damage to Camp Bastion Air Base as a way to stabilize him earlier than shifting to Landstuhl Regional Medical Middle and eventually Walter Reed Nationwide Medical Middle. Throughout restoration, Matt underwent greater than a dozen surgical procedures to restore harm brought on by the IED blast and was awarded the Purple Coronary heart medal by President Barack Obama.

After leaving the service, Matt labored in numerous industries whereas ending his diploma and used his expertise to co-found Invictus Worldwide.
