In 2021, two F-35A plane efficiently launched B61-12 Joint Check Assemblies, comprising purposeful non-nuclear parts and simulated nuclear parts, from an altitude of 10,500 toes. It took roughly 42 seconds for the bomb to succeed in and hit the designated goal on the vary.
The checks mimicked a real-world tactical gravity nuclear weapon launch on the Tonopah Check Vary in Nevada.
